WasteFuel Appoints Peter Jorgensen President

Los Angeles, CA - California-based biofuels company, WasteFuel announced today the promotion of Peter Jorgensen to President of the company. Peter will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
As President, Peter will oversee the company’s efforts to bring projects to scale and will work alongside the executive team to ensure the financial and operational effectiveness is maximized as the company continues to evolve.
“Peter has played an important role in WasteFuel’s development to date from his time on the Board of Directors and as a member of the team in his role as CFO. We are honored to have him assume the important role of President in addition to his responsibilities as CFO as we work to continue to evolve our efforts to decarbonize the shipping sector,” said Trevor Neilson, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO of WasteFuel.
Peter recently joined the WasteFuel team as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining WasteFuel, Peter had an extensive career at Maersk including serving as a Partner at Maersk Growth, the venture arm of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group.
He will leverage his experience within the marine sector and with early-stage companies in the regions where WasteFuel projects are located, including the UAE, to evolve the company’s projects.

Peter has driven change and inspired teams across Africa, Middle East, Europe and Asia and been involved in projects in 25+ countries. He holds a Masters in Business Administration and Business Law.
This promotion follows recent company news of the first close of a Series B round, led by bp ventures and a partnership formed with bp.
