Johan Fritz is the Global Projects Director at WasteFuel. He brings over 25-years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in the execution of global projects in places including in the US, UK, China, India, EU, Africa and South America.
Johan began his career in chemical and refinery operations before moving into project management. For over 20 years Johan worked at Sasol (an international integrated energy and chemicals company) where he held a number of positions including Area Manager and Senior Manager Development Projects.
After leaving Sasol, he provided Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) support for global clients at SLB Asset Consulting.
More recently, Johan was Engineering & Projects Director at global chemical and sustainable technology company Johnson Matthey. In this role he was responsible for projects enabling net zero targets, managed the capex delivery of global projects, played a hands-on role in execution, and built and oversaw cross-stakeholder teams.
Johan studied Chemical Engineering at the Vaal University of Technology and holds a postgraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Pretoria. He is also a certified project professional (PMI).
Johan lives in the UK and loves spending time outdoors hiking and skiing, especially when accompanied by his wife and two sons.
